Hatchet News

Hi HN! We were trying to have our team adopt AI more and had the idea for "AI Bingo" - hands-on, mini challenges that resulted in something delightful and real.

Our team members were obsessed, they were saying it was "weirdly addictive." People made AI-generated ASMR videos, n8n automations, games. Our email marketer built an Electron app using Claude Code.

We were stunned - people were learning by doing AND having fun. So, we've spent the last few weeks building Made That, where anyone can do the same challenges and see other people's submissions.

A lot of people feel a lot of existential angst about AI as we're all seeing layoffs left and right, but they don't know where to start. Wanted to add a bit of fun (and competitiveness) to something that feels stressful.

There's still a lot we can do to make it better, but wanted to open up discussion here and get feedback about the format, challenges, if it feels fun.
