If I am not mistaken, this is the first time when
the amount of applicants is significantly larger than the amount of jobs available on HN.
For as long as I remember, the usual ratio was ~2.5 for 2.5 hiring, was one comment in wants to be hired;
Now, the ratio is 0.76. The question is how long this trend continues downwards.
